22@NETWORK ATTENDS THE ZERO PLASTIC COMMITMENT DAY

Last November 24,  the Commissionó of Business and Sustainability of 22@Network BCN attended the celebration event after one year of the Zero Plastic Commitment at the Salon of Barcelona City Council Chronicles.

The Barcelona Plastic Zero Commitment is the result of the work of organizations of the Zero Plastic Table that was set up on November 18, 2019 to strengthen the will and the municipal commitment towards zero waste, under the auspices of the City Council. for Sustainability, within the framework of the Zero Waste strategy and as one of Barcelona City Council's responses to the climate emergency. This commitment, té as the main objective to advance in the development of a reduction strategy effective reduction of single-use plastic in the city of Barcelona.

The event began with the first intervention of the councilor of Transitionó Ecology and Climate Change, Eloi Badia, and then the presentations began with experts, who put the situation in context. current plastic environment and its problems: 

  • Cristina Romera, oceanographer and researcher at the Institut de Ciè ncies of the Sea of the Superior Council of Scientific Research (CSIC)
  • Anna Peña, communications director; of the Foundation Rezero
  • Nil Damià, responsible for the Paka project

Evolucioó and continuity of the Commitment was in charge of Eduard Moreno and Laura Reñaga from the Department of Environment and Urban Services, Barcelona City Council.

Finally, they finished with the summary of the year of the Plastic Commitment 0 and the presentation of the new objectives for the year 2023.
