FIRST EDITION OF THE BARCELONA INNOVATION AWARDS 2024

The awards are an act of the Barcelona City Council and 22@Network Barcelona and were presented by Mayor Jaume Collboni. 

The award ceremony took place at the RBA Auditorium as part of 22@Day, which the 22@Network Barcelona also celebrated its twentieth anniversary. 

The new awards are sponsored by the Barcelona City Council, Cushman & Wakefield, and Westfield Glòries.


The RBA Auditorium was the setting for the first edition of the Barcelona Innovation Awards 2024, a program organized by the Barcelona City Council and 22@Network Barcelona. Its purpose is to celebrate and recognize the most outstanding advancements in various key areas for societal progress. The awards are sponsored by the Barcelona City Council, Cushman & Wakefield, and Westfield Glòries.

The award ceremony coincided with 22@Day, a day in which the 22@Network Barcelona association also celebrated its 20th anniversary. The event welcomed around 300 professionals operating within the technology and entrepreneurial sector. They enjoyed an afternoon full of technology, inspiration, and networking, highlighting the city's potential in the field of innovation.

The Barcelona Innovation Awards 2024 showcased the quality and quantity of talent in the city, particularly in the 22@ district. “Barcelona is a city full of professionals who, day after day, manage to turn talent into knowledge and knowledge into wealth transfer to the city and the world in the form of technological development and advanced services,” claimed Enric Urreta, president of 22@Network Barcelona.

The winners of the awards were:

  • Disruptive Innovation Award: Awarded to Qilimanjaro-Quantum Tech, Victor Canivell, Co-founder and VP
  • Innovation in Health and Social Well-being Award: Awarded to Rob Surgical, Jaume Amat, CEO
  • Sustainability Innovation Award: Awarded to Lobelia Earth, Laia Romero, CEO
  • 22@ Innovation Award: Awarded to Universal Robots Tech, Jordi Pelegri, Country Manager Spain & Portugal

The awards were presented by the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, showcasing the strong collaboration between the City Council and 22@Network Barcelona in the continuous improvement and sustainable development of the city. “The density of talent concentrated in 22@ and the city’s ability to attract it ensures the future of Barcelona’s innovation district. The project is alive, vibrant, and attractive to talent and investments,” highlighted Mayor Jaume Collboni.

These awards consolidate Barcelona as a reference in innovation and foster cooperation between different parties, both from the private and public sectors. The recognition of the winners demonstrates the great talent and potential that Barcelona possesses and reflects the commitment to technological advances, sustainability, and social well-being.
