WiDS Barcelona Biomedicine is independently organized by Lauren Fromont, Maia Nahmod, and Paula Petrone to be part of the mission to increase participation of women in data science and to feature outstanding women doing outstanding work.

The Women in Data Science (WiDS) initiative aims to inspire and educate data scientists around the world, independently of their gender, to support women and gender non-conforming individuals in the field.

WiDS Barcelona Biomedicine promotes gender diversity by making more visible the work from women leaders in the fields of biology, biomedicine, and digital health.
