THE UOC WILL PROMOTE AN INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH ECOSYSTEM IN 22@.

Carla Escolà Costa,

The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) will promote an interdisciplinary research ecosystem from the Can Jaumandreu complex, located in 22@, Barcelona's technology district, where it will create a new research hub that is scheduled to begin operating in 2022.

The UOC's new hub will bring together researchers and centers that are currently dispersed between Barcelona and Castelldefels, which will work under three strategic lines of study: e-learning, digital health and network society.

The UOC was born 25 years ago as the first fully online university in the world and became a pioneer in the use of the Internet as a teaching and research tool, the university recalled, which has remarked that its goal now is to reaffirm its commitment to R+D+i.
