Susana Prado, President of 22@Network Barcelona and Isabel Sabadí, Director of the association attend the presentation of the City Council's Sanbox to promote innovation at Bit Habitat. Barcelona City Council has announced that it is launching the procedures to develop a new regulatory text that will regulate the pilot tests. Thus, the City Council will be provided with the necessary tools and procedures to safely manage the application of innovative solutions in the city, regulating a safe and controlled test environment in which the prototypes can be tested. The new regulation envisages having a bank of public, private and community assets that will be made available to the innovative ecosystem to carry out these tests, such as space on the streets or in the Olympic Port; facilities such as offices, libraries or sports areas; or events in the city such as music festivals, major parties and sporting events.
The event was attended by Minister Diana Morant who presented the "Sandbox" guide together with Teresa Riesgo, General Secretary of Innovation at the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
The “Sandbox: Understanding and Implementing Guide for controlled testing environments" guide is a document drawn up by the General Secretariat of Innovation of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities that precisely points out the needs to create this controlled testing environment.
