Last November 28, the Technology Innovation Management Group (TMA-TIMG) delegation based in Bangkok visited the 22@ innovation district and went on one of our 22@TOURS to find out how cutting-edge technology is implemented in Barcelona in a neighborhood in transformation such as 22@.

The tour started with a presentation by Isabel  Sabadí, Managing Director 22@Network BCN, who welcomed and introduced the 22@TOUR. After explaining the history and ecosystem management of the innovation district, Isabel Sabadí also explained how Barcelona is one of the most important smart cities in Europe and, since 2012, has been using innovative technologies to improve the daily lives of its residents. Next, Carme Buisan, Personal Promoter of Research Support at Pompeu Fabra University, presented her role at the university, as well as the international programs offered by the ETIC Engineering Department. Finally, the TOUR ended with a presentation by Jordi Sala, Urban Manager of Urban Resilience, S.L., who presented the SUMOSU Stations project, a network of public access infrastructures for recharging the entire electric mobility system of a city, meeting the needs of users ranging from e-taxis to urban electric buses, car-sharing fleets, and private vehicles.

On the other hand, TMA is a network of senior professionals of managers and executives from all branches of business in Thailand who are dedicated to seeking and transferring knowledge by sharing the latest information on advanced management principles and practices in various fields. Their goal is to foster a sustainable and competitive Thailand through innovative and capable human capital for the long term.

They organized a TechInnocation Trip to Barcelona under the theme "Hello! Technology & Innovation" from 26 November to 3 December 2022 with the aim of creating networking opportunities for TMA members, while observing and learning practices in technology and innovation from leading companies or research institutions.
