Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from Kuwait participating in the Food & Water Security Ideation Program 2026, organised by the IE University Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation for SACGC Kuwait.

The international mission brings together programme finalists and representatives from SACGC and IE University as part of an immersion programme in Spain focused on entrepreneurship and innovation.

The visit began at Smart the House, where Isabel Sabadi, General Director of 22@Network Barcelona, introduced the delegation to the history and transformation of the 22@ Innovation District, explaining how the area has evolved from its industrial past into an internationally recognised ecosystem for innovation, technology and knowledge.

The session also offered an opportunity to present the role of 22@Network Barcelona in connecting companies, universities, institutions, startups and other key stakeholders, fostering collaboration across the district.

The delegation later visited Ca l’Alier, where they could see first-hand how Barcelona’s industrial heritage has been transformed and adapted to new uses linked to innovation and collaboration.

The visit formed part of their international mission in Spain, which includes stops across the Barcelona and Madrid innovation ecosystems.
