Institutional Delegation from Santa Catarina Explores Innovation at 22@Barcelona

22@Network Barcelona had the honor of welcoming a high-level institutional delegation from the State of Santa Catarina, Brazil, for a curated tour of the 22@ innovation district. 

The visit aimed to showcase Barcelona’s leading innovation ecosystem and explore future collaboration opportunities between both regions in the areas of technological innovation and investment.

The Brazilian delegation was led by Marilisa Boehm, Vice Governor of Santa Catarina, and included Catiane Seif, Secretary of State for Tourism; Captain PM Luiz Fernando Oliveira de Marchi, Aide-de-Camp to the Vice Governor; Osvaldo Sagaz, Advisor to the Secretariat of Communication; Reginaldo de Souza, Advisor; and Caroline Canale, representative of Invest SC, the state’s investment promotion agency. Also present were Luis Fernando Corrêa da Silva Machado, Deputy Consul General of Brazil in Barcelona, and Carlos Humberto Maestre y Dutra, Technology and Trade Promotion Officer at the Consulate General of Brazil in Barcelona.

The visit offered the guests a deep insight into the urban transformation and economic development of the 22@ district, as well as examples of successful collaboration among companies, public institutions, and research centers. 

Santa Catarina is currently leading several promising initiatives in the field of technological innovation and is looking to forge international alliances to boost its investment strategy.

The institutional visit served as a first step in building a long-term relationship based on shared goals and mutual interest in innovation, sustainability, and international cooperation.
