In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Engineering UPF, the university is hosting a series of high-level international seminars known as the ‘DeepTech Talks.’ These sessions will offer valuable insights into the latest developments in technology and the role of artificial intelligence in society.

The talk, titled “AI Act: el futur d’Intel·ligència Artificial fiable, segura i responsable”, will take place at the Campus Poblenou Auditorium on November 22nd at 9:30 AM. This event will feature Ignasi Belda, Director of the Agencia Nacional de Supervisión de la Inteligencia Artificial, who will discuss the implications of the recent European AI Act. This groundbreaking regulation, effective from August 1, 2024, seeks to ensure that AI technologies are implemented responsibly, prioritizing safety, reliability, and the rights of both citizens and businesses.

Attendees will gain an understanding of how this new regulatory framework will impact individuals, companies, and the future of AI. This seminar is organized by Engineering UPF in collaboration with ACCIÓ (the Agency for Business Competitiveness of Catalonia) and the Digital Cluster of Catalonia.
