DDOT, THE STUDY THAT WILL PROMOTE OCCUPATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN BARCELONA

Secretaria Tècnica,

The main challenge of Barcelona Digital Talent (BDT) is to position Barcelona as a center of attraction and capital of digital talent to ensure its competitiveness as a technological city.

That is why from the Talent Commission and as Valkiria IFF (Institute for the Futures) we have done hand in hand with entities such as the 22@Network and Global Future of Work Foundation, a competency study of digital professions to develop and design the Dictionary of Digital Occupational Titles (DDOT), in order to detect jobs that cannot be filled and projects that cannot be developed in the technological area.

More than 200 companies have participated through personalized interviews, in addition to 30 existing digital profiles in companies, and a survey focused on the issues that most concern companies, in terms of attraction, training, loyalty of digital talent.

The diagnostic study in question has been focused mainly on two main aspects: the talent gap and the new skills required. So we will have a reference that allows us to align the needs and digital profiles in the Digital environment with the educational programs currently offered in the ICT business environment.

The 22@ District is the best showcase for this study since it concentrates around 80% of the digital companies in Barcelona, for this reason we wanted to join the BDT initiative.

From the 22@Network Talent Commission we want to make visible the market intelligence provided by our partners and work to consolidate Barcelona as an attraction hub for Digital Talent, accompanied by actions with local institutions and entities, which allow to reduce the gap between talent available and the needs to cover. This competence decalogue that we have worked on will contribute to promoting employment, as well as promoting entrepreneurship, and supporting companies to improve their competitiveness in digital matters.

We want to thank all the companies, regulated and unregulated training centers, institutions and entities that have participated, making possible this diagnostic study and the decalogue of Digital skills and abilities.

We are committed to a Work Future that offers new opportunities in the labor market, and responds to the needs of companies, in a constantly growing digital environment.
