Last Thursday, January 16th, 2025, Espai Barcelona, located on the ground floor of the iconic MediaTIC building, became the epicenter of a day filled with the exchange of ideas, innovation, and learning. This event brought together a delegation from Vilnius and key figures from Barcelona's business and innovation ecosystem, highlighting the potential of the 22@ district as a model for urban and technological development.
Isabel Sabadí, Director of the 22@Network Barcelona association, left a significant mark as she explained the transformative impact of the district's ecosystem and the numerous benefits offered by the association.
During her presentation, Isabel outlined how the 22@ district has become a global benchmark in urban innovation. This area, located in the heart of Poblenou, has successfully reinvented itself from its industrial past to become a hub of technology companies, research centers, and cutting-edge startups. She emphasized that the 22@ district is not just a physical space but a platform that fosters collaboration among companies, universities, institutions, and citizens, promoting sustainable economic growth and attracting international talent.
The event featured a rich agenda that began with welcome remarks and presentations by the Vilnius delegation. Among the most notable sessions were Xavier Mayo’s presentation on foreign investment attraction and Julia Cordonet’s discussion on the resources and services offered by Barcelona Activa to entrepreneurs and businesses.
Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a guided tour of the 22@ district and explore the Bit Habitat Foundation, a space dedicated to fostering urban innovation and sustainability projects.
