We were pleased to welcome a delegation from Sharjah Media City (Shams) to 22@ Barcelona. Established in 2017, Shams is one of the UAE's leading media and creative free zones, dedicated to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and the growth of the media and creative industries.

With a particular interest in communication, media, startups, and talent development, the delegation visited the Poblenou Campus of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), located in the heart of the 22@ Innovation District and surrounded by leading companies and startups from the audiovisual and media sectors, including Mediapro, RBA, and RTVE.

The visit began with a welcome from Isabel Sabadí, General Director of 22@Network Barcelona, who introduced the district's transformation and the role of the association in connecting businesses, institutions, universities, and innovation stakeholders.

We were also delighted to count on the participation of Ruth Rodríguez, from the Communication Department of UPF, who shared insights into the university's communication strategy, digital platforms, tools, and initiatives to attract and retain communication talent.

The session was further enriched by the participation of Paloma Rodiles, from the startup Narratio, who contributed her perspective on innovation and entrepreneurship within the communication sector.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the UPF Poblenou Campus, where the delegation had the opportunity to discover the state-of-the-art facilities, studios, and learning spaces available to students in the Faculty of Communication.
