On September 19, 22@Network Barcelona organized an innovation tour for directors and representatives of Hammersmith & Fulham and the innovation district White City London.

Isabel Sabadí, director of the association, presented the history, evolution and trends of the 22@Barcelona innovation district as well as the different ecosystems. She also explained the essence of the ecosystem and the benefits of being part of the innovation district.

Xavier Mayo, Economic Advisor at the Barcelona City Council, explained the international partnerships and the potential opportunities for collaboration with Hammersmith & Fulham.

David Martinez, Chief City Planner at the Barcelona City Council, presented the land assembly and construction issues in the 22@. He also explained the concept of the superblocks and the challenge of mobility.

Joan Geli, Commercial Director at Districlima, then presented the benefits of the unique cooling and heating system of the connected buildings in the 22@.

Albert Blanch, Founding Partner Architect of BCA Aquitectura, explained the relationship between architects and the planning authorities.

After a lunch, the delegation visited the 22@Innovation District (Container flats, Glories Tower, UPF, Superblock, Mediatic, Leitat) and ended the day by a visit to Impact Hub where Cesar Rodriguez, Portfolio Analyst at BCombinator and Damián Frigerio, Head of Acelera Startup at Impact Hub, presented them the role of the accelerators.
