COLLABORATION OF 22@NETWORK BARCELONA IN THE RETURNABLE TAKE AWAY PROJECT

Marina Perelló,

From 22@Network Barcelona we want to present the project to you TAKEAWAYRETORNABLE from the Rezero oundation in which we collaborate from 22@Network Barcelona. You can see more information about the foundation and this project in the interview we conducted for our newsletter.

This project puts a special focus on our district betting on its network of companies, universities, research centers and other entities, as well as its innovative and experimental character.

In the take away sector, a large amount of waste is generated daily, which represents an environmental, economic and social grievance. This project, which will last until the end of the year, promotes the use of returnable packaging for takeaway food and drinks. Communication and incentive actions are being carried out with the aim of publicizing the returnable packaging solution and its benefits, as well as increasing the participation of both users and establishments in these systems.

On the returnable takeaway website, you can see the establishments that are joining the campaign, register to collect points, the prize catalog and much more information.

Some of the highlights of the project so far are the work by Art is Tra$h and the information window in the shopping center Westfield Glòries, el podcast de Betevé and Rezero on the returnable take away and the article published in Time Out.

How can partner companies participate in the project?:

  • If you have cafeterias or canteens or make joint menu orders for your teams, you can hire returnable cup and container services. From Rezero they will advise you.
  • You can help identify the establishments where your teams consume drinks and takeaway food so that the project can contact them to add them.
  • You can help in the dissemination of the campaign among the people of your team or customers - either by sending communiques through your internal networks, with informative posters in shared spaces, by carrying out awareness activities (such as zero waste talks or characterizations of the waste generated in the office) or even calling your own challenges.

The project has brought together a network of agents from the district with the aim of this being a pioneer in collectively betting on a real circular economy. Thus, with the collaboration of the 22@Network Barcelona, the Eix Comercial de Poblenou, the Barcelona Restoration Guild, the Barcelona City Council, Urbaser, the participation of the bars, restaurants and canteens involved, the support of companies of the district such as Westfield Glories, Clear Channel and of course the initiatives that offer these services; Bumerang, Vasovengo and the Bol de Bici de Les Mercedes project, among many others, will make the district cleaner and more circular.
