The project consists of an independent analysis of the adequacy of the risk management process and results, arising from the implementation of the rail passenger liberalisation regulation
Altran, a global leader in engineering and R&D services, part of Capgemini, has been appointed by ADIF (Administrator of Railway Infrastructures in Spain) to carry out an independent assessment of the adequacy of the risk management process and results, arising from the application of Commission Regulation (EU) No. 402/2013 of 30 April 2013 on the liberalisation of rail passenger transport.
The project, which was put out to tender in a public process, has been submitted by the other assesment bodies (AsBo) accredited in Spain to consider changes related to Railway Operation. The analysis is being conducted by the Altran Inspection Body accredited by the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC) to carry out safety assessments across the operation. The work, which began last July, will be executed over the next four months.
Francisco Hidalgo, Altran's Railway Business Centre Manager, said "It is with great pride that Altran will carry out this assessment at such a crucial time for the Spanish railway industry, whose liberalisation represents a huge step forward". He also highlighted that “Altran has an extensive experience in this type of project and contributes with a differential value through its wide range of knowledge in relation to safety, which includes both purely technological aspects and those related to operations or management processes”.
