22@NETWORK BARCELONA AND LAVINIA PARTICIPATE IN UOC MBA BUSINESS WEEK

Irene Codina Altarriba,

On July 17th, as part of the  UOC MBA Business Week, 22@Network Barcelona organized an innovation tour at the premises of our partners at Lavinia for a group of 22 students from the UOC's Executive MBA program.

The students had the opportunity to visit Plató Nou, a virtual production studio located in 22@. Plató Nou was inaugurated less than a year ago and allows for shooting commercials and films without leaving the studio. Jordi Alonso, CTO of Lavinia, explained the ease of recording scenes with the different LED screens and various camera angles they use to make the recordings realistic. He also presented the companies that have used this product, such as Tissot, Chery, and La Caixa. Additionally, he mentioned the various events they held with Virtual Reality headsets and interactive screens, such as the Superaventura Virtual by Super 3.

Following this, Jordi Alonso presented the history and evolution of production technology, which transitioned from analog to digital in the 1990s. He explained the evolution of video companies (Netflix, YouTube, Sony, etc.) and shared his experience in creating companies in this domain. He also discussed in detail the strategic, economic, and innovation opportunities that the new digital era offers for Lavinia's production studio. He continued by addressing the topic of the future and the current impact of AI (Artificial Intelligence), explaining how it affects the field of cinema and innovation and how it can be used more productively today. He concluded his presentation with a Q&A session with the students.
